A little history
- 1413Codinachs’s mill. The first sure record of the mill is a lawsuit of 1413–14: it belonged to Pere Codinachs, son of the lord of the farmsteads of Albalat and Benimàmet. - 1658A fulling mill. The 1658 inspection of the Royal Montcada Canal describes it as a fulling mill, where cloth was prepared. No: the finca has none. It is inside the city of Valencia, so there are hotels nearby.
07How do we get there, and where do we park?
The finca is on the Plaza del Canónigo, in Benimàmet (Valencia). There is parking. By car it is about 22 minutes from central Valencia and about 15 from the airport, according to Google Maps.
08Is there really a 15th-century mill?
The finca stands where the University of Valencia’s heritage catalogue places the old Molí de Bonany (Plaza del Canónigo, 2). Its first sure record is a lawsuit of 1413–14; the finca itself dates its stone walls to the 15th century. The buildings you see today are largely later: the catalogue describes brick-and-lime mill houses, with the fulling-mill block probably rebuilt in the 19th century.
09Can we visit the finca before booking?
Yes. Google lists opening hours Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm. Please phone ahead.
